I'm getting there
I felt not so hot, but made it there anyway. And some days, that's the point, isn't it?

why yes, Julie, perhaps I do need some butt-kicking!
Okay, there was a swim yesterday, and a run today. And the odd swim over the past two months. Plus some energetic walks. I have some new momentum now that the triathlon is over--we had the most athletes ever this year, no injuries or wipe-outs that we know of, and it seems like everyone's happy with how things went! Helping organize it wipes me out in the short term, but boosts me up in the long term--so I'm looking forward to the new energy. And now that we're post-tri, the pool is empty in the morning--even more incentive, a lane of my own!
Yesterday, it looked like this:
warm-up (400m): swim, kick, pull, swim.
main set (1000m): straight.
warm-down (400m): mixed.

Today: about 5km from the house to the trails and back, walking the hills, with Helen and Bruno, at about 45 minutes. It felt much better than I'd feared, and I'll be happy to do it again soon.

a regular
The hot tub is down. The lane swim time is up. I am offered the sauna, which is billed as being nice and hot. I'm courteous, and ask if there is a public swim next, thinking that if they are closing up, I'll go home. I'm told that I'd be able to stay anyway, because I'm a regular.
Naturally, I spend my time in the sauna replaying those word, which, as with any words, become distorted the more you say it.

But it's closest to the truth. I have been irregular at the pool.
Things could be worse. . . .
It was 1300m. A mix. And I only had a half hour, so I consider it awesome!
