I got up this morning, finally at a decent time, and it wasn't scorching yet (well, 16-18 feels "scorching" at this point in time), so dragged Mike to Parco Sempione to watch me run around. He's my main tour guide, so I don't get lost and have to stay here. It was beautiful. Tons of runners. Lots of dog walkers too. So I ran into the park, past the kids playing basketball, past what looked like a succot-village (but succot is over now, right?) and then the Celtic festival kiosks (maybe the village of canadesi--simple tents--were people with the festival?) and a restaurante. Then I went out of another park gate and back in by the arena. I circled the arena twice, and the second time, saw that a door was open and I could see inside. It looked like they were setting up for a soccer game, or something. It was very green in there, like a soccer pitch, anyway. But I suppose it could have been bocce, who knows? Then back to Mike, and around again another time. It might have been 5km total, with the extra circle around the arena. The elevation change was zero, and that was quite a treat too! Anyway, the whole production was hopefully to help with my new interest in the pasticceria. . . yesterday I discovered this little crisp cream puff of a pastry stuffed to the brim with nutella. yum. These people really know how to live!
run: 5km, maybe, plus 1.5km (maybe) walking each direction, back and forth
time: 40 minutes, plus 10 there and 10 back
