. . . but back at it.
Wow. I haven't been to a morning swim in a few years, I think. It's a whole other world! It's so quiet! There were at least 6 people in the lanes at 7am! I made the sad mistake, though, of getting out at 8:15--just as all the swim class people were arriving--and barely made it through the crowds to my locker. I did, however, get some perennial-splitting tips before being rolled for a Mary Kay makeover. Why can't I just say no? No, I have to give out my full name and phone number and not refuse when they tell me to bring a friend.
. . . any takers?
Here's how it looked in the water (aside from me feeling very draggy and slow. That's hard to portray in words. The "minispeed" was not very speedy at all. But I still made it out in an hour & 15. . . which probably goes to show that when I'm not feeling sick, maybe I should be pushing harder? yeah, I know. . . ).
Warmup (400m): reverse IM--50 kick, 50 full stroke
Minispeed (400m): 2x [25 easy/ 25 fast, 50 easy/ 50 fast, 25 easy/ 25 fast], continuous; first time free, second time backstroke
Aerobic (1800m): 2x400m on 8:00, 6x100 on 2:00, 8x50 on 1:00. I felt like I couldn't really push it much harder, as I'm still head-coldy congested, and breathing was a little off. The 400s were definitely harder to do than the 50s--and on the 50s, I was able to push a bit harder.
Warmdown (400m): easy mix--pull, kick, full stroke.
===3000m
+core. I'm doing 45 seconds on, 30 seconds off. And I did it--even the side planks. I think it has taken a few weeks for my wrists to get used to supporting nearly my entire body weight. They're still not liking it, but holding up okay.
