Got to the pool today, and granted, I don't always come in on Saturday, and I had to ask the parents in the viewing area if anyone was working. huh. I suppose if I had my glasses on, I would've recognized the guard (because I go so much and recognize the senior ones) in the deep end with about four other people. But no one at the counter, no one on deck. . . . And then no lane ropes until quarter after the hour, and only an hour to swim (make that 45 minutes at that point. . . ). After a year of being patient with guards eating and drinking on deck, and often being late putting lane ropes in, you could say that I was at the end of my own rope. Anyway, of course the guard apologized, and told us that they've been instructed not to put lane ropes in for lane swimming unless there is more than one of us. Which brings me to a whole other set of complaints. . . but there's a workout to write up.
warm-up (500m): mixed.
main set (1500m): aerobic IM pyramid. 100IM :20, 200IM :25, 300 IM :25, 300 freestyle :25, 300 IM :25, 200 IM 25, 100 IM
warm-down (200m): mixed.
===2200m
By the "down" side of the pyramid, I was starting to feel bad again--the same negative stuff from earlier in the week. I'm pretty sure that it's not stemming from the swimming itself, but it sure is affecting my ability to keep up with swimming. I'm just going to try to stay on schedule in the next little while, and hope that things take a turn for the better.
